Social Impact Leadership Series: James Chen, AB ’82, FOUNDER of clearly

On March 20, join Chicago Booth's Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation for a Social Impact Leadership Series event in Beijing with James Chen, AB ’82, a Hong Kong–based venture philanthropist with a global outlook.

His philanthropic journey travels from early childhood literacy in Greater China, to his campaign Clearly, where Chen is on a mission to help the 2.5 billion people around the world who suffer from poor vision to see—and he’s marshalling innovators, start-ups, governments, and NGOs to make it happen.
In this compelling talk, Chen will explore:
  • His inspiration for becoming a philanthropist
  • The power of “audacious philanthropy” and why traditional philanthropy models need to change
